Do you currently have a job? Do you have a Bachelor's Degree? MBAs are essential to move ahead in many environments, but if you aren't finished with a Bachelor's or aren't working for any company, you might want to hold off.

The background depends where you want to work - if it's the biotech sector, then yes, it would help. If you're wanting to work at Google, then computer engineering would be better.

MBA will probably take at least two years - possibly longer if you're in a career, which if you are considering it you should make sure you know what field you want to be in prior.

people can self teach them self and study on there own time.school is a place were people are force to learn something and in most cases people only learn what the teacher knows.learning on your own means you learn from people by experience. it's like on the job schooling and paper research.

Get an MBA (or any advanced degree for that matter) because it is required for the position you want or required for advancement in your chosen field, or best of all, because you know it will make you a lot more valuable in your profession.

I guess you could also enter an MBA program just because you think it would be fun, but that doesn't sound like where your question is headed.

Go to a job board and look for jobs in your field that require an MBA. Thaty will give you an idea of what the job market is like right now for MBA's in your geography, and area of expertise. Once you know what you might hope to make, then you can decide if an MBA program will be worth the substantial investment of your time and money.
