Season Outdoor Wedding Question! Help!?

Postby edgard » Sun Nov 22, 2009 1:39 am

I want to get married in Sept. of this year, mid to late in the month. I would like to have an outdoor ceremony, at least that is what I am hoping for. In this time of month, would their be any wild flowers that would be alive? I really would want the outdoors to look alive, and I am not so great with knowing the seasons and the horticulture. So, what I am asking... Would there be life in the parks? Trees and flowers..would it look pretty outside? Thanks!

It depends on where you are geographically. In the northeast, the leaves will be beautiful colors. In the south, there will still be flowers. In the mountains, snow. In the northwest, probably rain.

Where in the country are you?

In the midwest, the trees don't change color till early october, so the trees will still be quite green, and odds are you'll still have mums that will be in bloom...but most florals will not be alive by then. But you could buy potted mums at grocery or hardware stores at that time, and place them around your ceremony space to add some color and fragrance...

Hi. YES, you should most definitely still have "life" outdoors in Ohio at that time of the year. You will not have any "fall colors" yet....too early for where you live (I'm in very northern Michigan and our don't start turning until mid-Sept.).....but you should definitely still have nice weather - green trees....and, yes, wildflowers.

Oh my goodness - it depends on where you live!!! Obviously in September in say.....upstate New York is going to already be COLD and the flowers will likely be dead! If you're in Florida, big difference - DUH.

That depends on where you live... what state do you live in and what part of that state do you live in?
