Good rule of thumb: if the offer came from a corporation, but the email address extension is yahoo or gmail or some other free email site, it's almost guaranteed to be a scam.

unless you yourself applied for a job either thru a website, thru snail mail, thru things like monster.com or any other website wherein you put your resume out there....or the email comes from some place local where you can just call them and ask......well, then I'd consider it a scam

Sorry dude, this appears to be a scam. Check to see if it's listed on Oil Offshore Marine http://www.oil-offshore-marine.com/bewarejobscams.php or ask them to tell you. But from what they say in the email I think it's a scam.

Such offers esp from Nigeria are usually a fraud. People are lured to that country, kidnapped and then released after payment of a hefty sum. Sometimes money are taken on the pretext of making travel documents and papers

it's a scam!!! Forward the email to spam@uce.gov
----------------------------------
To Avoid scams here is what i tell people...
All spam emails/unsolicited phone calls/letters and faxes are scams.
As a general rule - ANYTHING involving Western Union/money gram = Scam.
my Advice: Don't deal with anyone out of state or from a foreign country or Accept or cash checks from strangers and never use wire/bank transfer services.. you risk losing your $$ and your mind.
Remember, if it sounds too good
to be true, it probably is! NEVER(ever) give out your personal information to strangers online or offline! Always be on guard.
